Dream Big
Children’s Museum’s social media campaign garners community engagement and inspires children to Dream Big.
Each year, approximately 80,000 children and their families visit the London Regional Children’s Museum to explore exhibits, participate in programming and learn through the power of play. A regional cultural institution and a unique asset to the community for almost 40 years, the museum plays an essential role in childhood development and tourism.
Canada’s sesquicentennial provided a unique opportunity for the London Regional Children’s Museum to promote one of its core values – inspiring children to dream big. A new exhibit featuring the stories and adventures of exceptional Canadians would demonstrate the limitless potential of all children and expose them to various career options.
Lashbrook Marketing and Public Relations created and implemented a phased social media marketing campaign to engage the community in the making of the exhibit and generate excitement around its official launch. The three-phased campaign exceeded expectations and the Museum’s objectives with 70 online nomination submissions to Dream Big, an above-average engagement rate of 5.4%, over 88,428 people reached on Facebook, a total of 248 new Page Likes during the campaign period and media coverage encouraging the community to nominate exceptional Canadians.
